Lilifield, is a family business in Northern Michigan
designing handmade, one-of-a-kind, Victorian and German theme
Christmas Ornaments and Feather Trees since 2004. Our
Christmas decorations look antique because we use antique,
vintage and rare German finds to comprise them. From
time-to-time you may see several original, unretouched antique
ornaments or other Christmas decorations.
We craft our ornaments one by one by hand using rare and
very special materials. For instance, aside from our antique
Victorian chromos (or scraps) and antique glass ornaments, we
incorporate fine materials such as genuine silverplated metal
tinsels and garland, vintage gold metal tinsel, antqiue
looking "glass" rhinestones produced by a jeweler in Germany
who makes them just as they were made more than 100 years ago.
The same jeweler makes our antique looking "metal laces" and
motifs. Wax baby dolls with and without hair, poured from the
original antique molds in Germany and handpainted. Antique
silk laces, vintage trims, authentic vintage German gold and
silver fine glass glitters, and oh, so many other unique old
finds.
All ornaments are designed with attached hangers for
immediate use (unless otherwise noted).
We also make our own genuine Goose feather Christmas trees
by hand. We dye the "soft biot" goose feathers which are a bit
costlier and harder to find. But the soft biots were what was
used in the original German feather tree and will age just
like the antique feather trees look today.
The most often asked question that we receive is "Do you
wholesale"? We cannot wholesale because we do not mass-produce
our ornaments. Our ornaments are made one-by-one, by hand and
no two are identical. Many of the materials that we use are
antique, vintage, or rare with very limited quantities. And
some materials such as our silverplated tinsel garlands are
becomming more scarce with each passing day. Our prices have
been exceptionally competative from the start, and we believe
that Lilifield ornaments offer more detailing and atristry
than can be achieved from mass-production.
